And when you need to know the best out of this type of vehicle, an excellent choice would be none other than the Donkervoort Cars brand. Let us know more about this company and its releases below:

Donkervoort Official Logo of the Company

The Motoring Pride of the Netherlands

Founded by Joop Donkervoort in 1978, this car company was originally a passion project of sorts that allowed the owner and his associates the chance to create some interesting vehicles. Considering the high level of attention given on cars by Donkervoort and his team, the brand actually came into nationwide attention mainly because of the unique cars developed by the group.

In just a matter of years, the Donkervoort car company grew, mainly because customers and interested parties supported the company’s unique and idealistic designs.

Progress was massive, especially during the millenium, when Donkervoort partnered with Audi. And aside from the unique designs, Donkervoort vehicles have started to make an impact in the race scene, proving that this brand does know how to make innovative and powerful vehicles.

The future is indeed bright with this company – Joop Donkervoort, who has been with the group ever since its humble beginnings, has only recently retired, giving his son the keys to his kingdom! Expect only the best rides from this brand!

Amazing List of Donkervoort Cars

No matter the release, Donkervoort vehicles incorporate a unique approach and design – cars from this brand offer a more natural take on driving, by removing standard or conventional tech enhancements found in other cars, such as power steering, anti-lock braking systems, and electronic stability programs.

The intention to take away these enhancements for a bare driving experience may be controversial for some. And still, the company still proved to make it big in the industry! Check out some of the popular car models released by Donkervoort below!

Donkervoort S8

A few years later (1983), Donkervoort released a follow-up to the impressionable and spectacular Donkervoort S7. The Donkervoort S8, essentially an enhanced version from the car brand’s first release, brings in better and more exciting features for motorists to enjoy. Boosted with a five speed gear box (the first release integrated a 4 speed system), the Donkervoort S8 also sported a slighter larger front track to house a 2.0 litre Ford engine.

Additionally, the brand made sure that the Donkervoort S8 was equipped with better safety enhancements: twin aluminum fuel tanks are safely positioned by the car’s front axel and a double braking system has also been equipped to trigger brake settings at both the front and rear parts of the Donkervoort S8.

Donkervoort D10

1988 marked another amazing Donkervoort release. The Donkervoort D10, known for its cutting-edge appearance (which does mean something big, considering that almost every Donkervoort release are beautiful creations!), was dubbed to best represent the “No Compromise” message that the brand has been constantly pushing.

With extreme features such as having no windshield at all, no spare wheel equipped, and sporting a sleek minimalist design, this car proved that it was made for only one goal: maximum speed. Considering its extreme qualities, only 10 models of the Donkervoort D10 were made.

Still, that was more than enough models to prove the world just what Donkervoort will do to make and showcase its avant garde ways: aside from also coming with a helmet, the Donkervoort D10 also broke the acceleration record among production cars – it went from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.85 seconds!

Donkervoort saw the greatness that Audi engines can provide for motorists. Released in 1999, the Donkervoort D8 Audi (AGU) integrated the use of Audi engines, proving a perfect match among the two brands.

The Audi engine offered mainly two major benefits: better power output and a lighter shell. Both benefits accentuate the Donkervoort D8, showcasing its finesse when it was released. Additionally, the Donkervoort D8 Audi (AGU) also offered a better chassis system, making this a spectacular release to the joy of many.

This car brand’s collaboration with Audi actually first started in 1998, with both groups developing ideas in creating an awesome ride. The prototype, the Donkervoort D20, incorporated something never seen on previous Donkervoort models: a transaxle design principle. Essentially, this design allows a more balanced weight distribution in the vehicle, improving power generation, speed, and traction.

This car’s top speed was 170 km/h – a remarkable rating during its launch!

Incorporating 2G tech in all corners, the Donkervoort D8 GTO-JD70 is faster and stabler, able to manage gravitational pulls to accelerate in a more efficient manner. In fact, it just takes 2.7 seconds for this car to get to 100 km/h!

The Donkervoort D8 GTO-JD70’s exhaust system is cleaner than its predecessors as well, with just an output of C02 emissions of191 grams/km. For its actual construction, the Donkervoort D8 GTO-JD70 majorly (at 95%) composed of carbon fiber tech. Strong yet really light, this is a car that’s truly made for the distance.
